Oregon Caves National Monument
Birds

Our bioregion has the most birds in Oregon. We have federally threatened species on the Monument which include northern spotted owls (Strix occidentalis) and visiting bald eagles (Haliaeetus leucocephalus).

Other visitors found are the endangered peregrine falcons (Falco peregrinus), now federally petitioned as threatened.

The most commonly seen birds on the Monument are Stellar's jays (Cyanocitta stelleri) and ravens (Corvus corax).  Other commonly seen birds include dark-eyed juncos (Junco hyemalis) and pileated woodpeckers (Dryocopus pileatus).
