All of our National Parks are convenient to public transportation. The African Burial Ground, Castle Clinton, Federal Hall, Lower East Side Tenement Museum, Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace, Grant's Tomb, Hamilton Grange and Saint Paul's Church are all close to MTA subways stations and buses.

Statue of Liberty National Monument-Ellis Island can be reached by ferries departing from Battery Park in Lower Manhattan and Liberty State Park in New Jersey. Please call 1-866-4-STATUE for more information and to make reservations. Be aware that timed passes are also required for viewing the interior of the Statue of Liberty.

Gateway National Recreation Area. The Jamaica Bay Unit can be reached by MTA subway or bus. The Staten Island Unit can be reached by MTA bus. The Sandy Hook Unit can be reached by New Jersey Transit bus. Ferry service is available from Manhattan directly to Sandy Hook during the summer. At other times, ferry service is available from Manhattan to nearby locations including Highlands and Atlantic Highlands.

Governors Island is open during the summer season. Ferry service departs from the Battery Maritime Building, adjacent to the Staten Island Ferry in Lower Manhattan.

Our National Parks in Manhattan may have nearby street parking, depending on availability, or pay-to-park garages are located nearby. St. Paul's Church in Westchester has parking. Gateway National Recreation Area has on-site parking but there may be a parking fee. Pay-to-park garages are located near the ferry departure points for Governors Island and the Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island's ferry departure point in Battery Park. There is parking near the Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island's ferry departure point in Liberty State Park in New Jersey.
