In 1946, the 9,076 foot Castle Mountain in Alberta’s Canadian Rockies was renamed Mount Eisenhower in the General’s honor. Although the original name of the mountain was restored in 1983, a prominent 9,029 foot high pinnacle on the mountain’s south end is still known today as Eisenhower Tower or Eisenhower Peak. Another Mount Eisenhower, only 4,744 feet above sea level, exists in New Hampshire’s Presidential Range. Mount Eisenhower in Alberta had such scenic appeal that a picture of it was featured on the cover of this menu used by travelers on the Canadian Pacific Railway.
