Knife bayonet for a German 98K Mauser.
It was discovered in a barn near the village of St. Mere-Eglise, France, where the American 82nd Airborne Division and stray men from the 101st Airborne Division battled against the Germans on D-Day. St. Mere-Eglise was one of the first French towns to be liberated from the Nazis.
