TrailsVisitors must stay on established walking trails and hard surfaces at all times. ClimbingClimbing Mount Rushmore is prohibited. Rock climbing is permitted in other areas of the memorial, a brochure is available at the Information Center and Lincoln Borglum Visitor Center. Fires and HuntingOpen fires and hunting are not permitted within the boundaries of Mount Rushmore National Memorial. Protection of Park ResourcesThe natural and cultural resources are protected. Picking up rocks, collecting plants or feeding wildlife are prohibited. Please do not litter.
Food and BeveragesFood and Beverages are prohibited in the Information Center, Lincoln Borglum Visitor Center, Sculptor's Studio and Gift Shop.
SmokingSmoking is only allowed from the parking area up to the entrance columns. View the map for location. Please use proper receptacles to dispose of smoking materials.
Remotely Piloted AircraftLaunching, landing or operating unmanned or remote controlled aircraft within Mount Rushmore National Memorial is prohibited (36CFR 1.5 Closures & Public Limits).
