By Airplane:
The closest major airport is Newark International Airport, located near Newark, NJ
By Car:
Morristown is located along interstate 287 in New Jersey.
Washington's Headquarters and the Museum
GPS = N 40º 47' 49.9 & W 074º 28' 01.3
Traveling Southbound on 287 -Take exit 36.
-On the exit ramp take the fork for "Morris Avenue/ Lafayette".
-After you get off the exit ramp you need to immediately get over to the left to turn left at the light onto Ridgedale Ave.
-Left at the next light onto Morris Avenue (Route 510 East).
-Stay to the left. Go over 287.
-Continue on the left, make the left fork, and follow the signs that will take you to the left for Washington’s Headquarters.
-(You’ve just gone around in a big circle because of all the one-way streets in town.)
Traveling Northbound on 287
-Take exit 36A
-At the end of the exit ramp, curve to the right to be on Morris Avenue (Route 510 East).
-Immediately get over to the left.
-Continue on the left, make the left fork, and follow the signs that will take you to the left for Washington’s Headquarters.
Jockey Hollow

From Interstate 287 South or North:
-Take Exit 30B (Bernardsville)
-At the traffic light, turn right onto Route 202 North
-Turn left at light for Tempe Wick Road (Route 646).
(Note that road has a different name on the right side, don’t let this confuse you.)
-Continue on Tempe Wick Road for about another 1 ½ miles. The entrance to the Jockey Hollow unit of Morristown National Historical Park will be on your right.
Public Transportation:
The New Jersey Transit - Morris & Essex Rail lines run from Penn Station, NY to Hoboken & Newark lines in NJ to Morristown, NJ.
-The walk from the Morristown train station to the Washington's Headquarters unit of the park is a bit more than 1/2 mile.
Getting Around
There are over 27 miles of foot and horse trails in the Jockey Hollow area of the park.
Color coded trail maps are available in the Jockey Hollow Visitor Center. Motorized vehicles are prohibited on all trails.
The Jockey Hollow Unit of the park offers an automobile tour (2-mile loop) road.
