VOLUNTEER WITH US

Who We Are

Mount Rainier’s Volunteers In Parks (VIP) program provides meaningful service opportunities for hundreds of volunteers who commit thousands of hours every year to protecting our natural and cultural resources and providing a positive visitor experience. We seek to provide an avenue for people to connect with the park on a deeper level while developing skill sets, building community, and practicing stewardship through projects that support the park’s mission. Here at Mount Rainier our volunteers are a vital part to our operations and overall success.

Partnerships

Mount Rainier’s Volunteer Program would not be able to accomplish all that we do if it weren’t for our partners who contribute funding and supplies, lead projects, and recruit volunteers. They help further the park’s mission of promoting stewardship through education, advocacy, and the pursuit of their mission. We are grateful for their ongoing support and encourage you to learn more about our partner organizations.

For Supervisors of Volunteers

Volunteers have been donating their time and energy at Mount Rainier almost from the very beginning. Their work is vital to overall park function and success and can be a great option for completing projects and having extra hands on deck. However, there are things to consider before incorporating volunteers into your department as well as to keep in mind when working with them to ensure a successful partnership. In response, the Mount Rainier Volunteer Program has put together a supervisor handbook for supervisors who are looking to or already use volunteers in their departments.
