The Final General Management Plan and Environmental Impact Statement (9.65 MB in pdf format) for the lower 59-mile reach was issued in 1999. It serves as the general management plan for that portion of the Missouri National Recreational River. The plan provides guidance for managing this area for the following 10-15 years.

Also available in hard copy only from the above address is the Long-Range Interpretive Plan (2000). It describes the park's current efforts to tell its interpretive stories and recommends the park's interpretive goals that can be achieved over the following 10 years.
