Waterfowl Survey on the Upper Mississippi River

The survey is a multi-year study of migratory waterfowl along the upper Mississippi River and a partnership of the National Park Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, the Mississippi River Fund and the Prairie Island Indian Community.

Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day

On Friday, October 16th the National Park Service and Trips for Kids will team up for a youth mountain biking event at Battle Creek Regional Park. The event is a great opportunity for youth to enjoy their nearest national park, the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area. Park rangers will provide information about the park`s plants and animals.

 

Minnesota's National Park Legacy to Premiere at Bell Museum

September 24, 2009

Be among the first to preview Minnesota's National Park Legacy, a locally produced film about the legacy and national significance of Minnesota's national parks. The event will be held at the Bell Museum of Natural History on Thursday, September 24 at 7 p.m.

Mississippi River Challenge 2009

July 24, 2009

Join river enthusiasts and National Park Service rangers on and along the river this weekend at the Mississippi River Challenge 2009. This paddle first began in 2004 by Friends of the Mississippi River to appreciate and protect the Mississippi River in the Twin Cities area. The one or two day event starts this Saturday, July 25th.

The grand opening of the Minnesota section of the Mississippi River Trail and the newly remodeled City House will take place on June 6, 2009. After the celebration the National Park Service will host a 9-mile Bike to a Ranger ride along the Mississippi River.

 

BioBlitz 2009

June 14, 2009

Join teams of scientists and volunteers of all ages on June 12-13 from 5 p.m. Friday to 5 p.m. Saturday for the 2009 BioBlitz. Teams of biologists and volunteers will fan out across St. Paul’s Crosby Farm Regional Park to identify and catalog as many species of plants, animals, lichens, fungi as possible within an intensive 24-hour survey.
