Open House Tour (Visit Delta-01)

The Open House tour is a shorter version of the Reservation Tour at Delta-01. These are given once a week during the summer from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

On this tour visitors get a quick Ranger-guided tour of the topside, including viewing of the living quarters and the security control center. Visitors then take an elevator down to the underground Launch Control Center where they learn how the missiles would be launched in the event of a nuclear attack.

The length of the Open House tour is about 15 minutes, but there may be additional waiting time before the tour begins. Places on the tour are given out on a first-come, first served basis. During the busy summer season the average wait time can be 30 minutes or longer.

The missile silo at Launch Facility Delta-09 is also open during the open house. A ranger will be on-site to provide interpretation of the history and operations that occurred at the silo.
