Massachusetts Archaeology Month, October 2009 - Identify and Learn about Old Bottles 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM 1:00 – 2:00 National Park Service archaeologists will give a short presentation and show examples of bottles from the Minute Man NHP archaeology collection.
2:00 – 4:00 Staff will answer general questions and help identify and date your bottles.

Cold blast charcoal-fired iron furnaces like Hopewell Furnace were in operation in Pennsylvania as early as 1720. Between 1832 and 1840, 32 such furnaces were built in the state. The U.S. census of 1840 recorded 212 charcoal-fired furnaces operating in Pennsylvania that year.
