Make-it and Take-it at Maggie L. Walker NHS
Maggie L. Walker National Historical Site invites children of elementary school-age to participate in their new summer activity “Make-it and Take-it.” After viewing a short film on the life of Maggie L. Walker, each participant will use copies of Walker’s scrapbook and family photos, modern newspapers, stickers and other craft materials to create a colorful, unique scrapbook. This ranger-guided, hands-on activity is a fun way to learn about the life of Maggie L. Walker and her remarkable contributions.
The summer activity is free of charge and occurs by reservation only Tuesday through Friday through September 1. Organized groups of 20 or less and families are welcome. Call 804-771-2017 ext. 23 for more information.
