  1. I-65 North Exit toward Birmingham - 78.6 miles
  2. Exit #250 onto I-459 North toward Gadsden/Atlanta -18.1 miles
  3. Exit #33B onto I-59 North toward Gadsden - 84.7 miles
  4. Fort Payne Exit #222 - 0.2 miles
  5. RIGHT on Greenhill Blvd. NW/ US-11 - 1.1 miles
  6. STRAIGHT at Red light (Foodland Grocery) US-11/Gault Avenue North - 0.2 miles
  7. Arrive at Park Headquarters, 2141 Gault Avenue North on the LEFT

Go Directly to the Park

 

  1. Take I-65 North Exit toward Birmingham - 78.6 miles
  2. Take Exit #250 onto I-459 North toward Gadsden/Atlanta - 18.1 miles
  3. Take Exit #33B onto I-59 North toward Gadsden - 84.7 miles
  4. Exit I-59 at Exit #218 - turn RIGHT at traffic light onto AL-35/Glenn Blvd. and follow to junction of US 11/Gault Avenue
  5. Turn LEFT onto US 11/Gault Avenue S. Follow to 5th Street NE/AL-35 - 1.5 miles
  6. Turn RIGHT onto 5th Street NE/AL-35S - cross RR tracks
  7. Go STRAIGHT at traffic light on 5th Stree NE
  8. Bear LEFT to follow AL-35 South to top of mountain and flashing traffic light - 2.3 miles
  9. Continue STRAIGHT on AL-35S - 5 miles

Little River Falls

 

To go to Little River Falls, continue past AL-176. Cross the bridge and turn RIGHT into parking lot.

 

If you want to take the scenic drive to view the canyon from the overlooks (very little walking is required) go back to AL-176. This is an 11-mile drive with views of the canyon from eight overlooks.

Camping is only allowed in our Backcountry Area. There are three primitive campsites in the Backcountry Area; Billy's Ford, Hartline Ford and Slant Rock. One group per site. No reservations are required.
