A map showing where pets area allowed within Little Bighorn Battlefield Natiional Monument boundaries. A red line is drawn along the north side of the road between the entrance station and visitor center parking lot.
The red line indicates areas that pets are permitted outside of vehicle in Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument.

Pets are members of our families, but there are some things you should be aware of before bringing your pet to the monument.

  • Pets are not permitted on trails or in any building.
  • Pets must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet (1.8 m), under physical restraint, or caged at all times, including while in open-bed pickup trucks.
  • Pets are not to be left tied to an object when unattended.
  • Pet owners must pick up after their pets and dispose of waste in a trash receptacle.
  • Owners must not allow a pet to make noise that is unreasonable.

The area indicated in red on the map shows where your and your pets can go within the park. The designated area starts on the east side of the road (across from the parking area), after the entrance gate and extends to the visitor center parking lot.
