Transportation & Guiding Services

Because Katmai National Park and Preserve is not accessible by road, the park must be accessed by air taxis or boat. In addition to transportation, commercial guides for various activities such as bear viewing, sport fishing, photography, and hiking also provide services for a fee to the public. The bear that you see in the park may be older than you think. Brown bears can live up to 30 years, although 20 years or less is more common.
