Under the requirements of the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act of 1980, (ANILCA), there is no entrance fee for Katmai National Park. There are, however, other fees such as for camping at Brooks Camp and for commercial filming and photography permits.
Did You Know?
Several glaciers near Katmai's Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes are currently advancing because of thick layers of ash, deposited by the 1912 Novarupta eruptions, acting as insulation for the glaciers and preventing melting as quickly while they flow down valley.
