Welcome to Katmai National Park sign on Naknek Lake beach.

Under the requirements of the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act of 1980, (ANILCA), there is no entrance fee for Katmai National Park. There are, however, other fees such as for camping at Brooks Camp and for commercial filming and photography permits.
A microblade core from the Preserve.

Did You Know?
The first people in Katmai arrived about 9,000 years ago. They left behind artifacts like this one, a core from which small microblades were struck. Expert tool makers set the microblades into the sides of bone arrowheads to increase cutting power.
