Kids Program with the Storyville Stompers Brass Band

Children are invited to bring their own instruments for this traditional jazz workshop with members of the Storyville Stompers Brass Band.

New OrleansHelsinki Connection

2:00 – 3:30 p.m.

Led by trumpeter Leroy Jones and trombonist Katja Toivola, the New Orleans Helsinki Connection also features the talented vocals of Yolanda Windsey.

Don’t miss NPS Rangers Matt Hampsey and Bruce Barnes as they perform a jazz roots program at 3:00 p.m. on November 3rd, 5th, 10th, 12th, 19th, and 24th.

 

 

 

 

 

These activities are free and open to the public and will take place in the park’s VisitorCenter at 916 N. April is Jazz Awareness month. This recognition was created by the Smithsonian Institute in 2001 and is celebrated nation-wide every year. So April is a great time to visit the park as a variety of special music programs are offered and the city hosts several music festivals.
