Meet the Rudolph Family

Who were the Rudolphs? Zeb Rudolph was a founding member of the Western Reserve Eclectic Insitute (now Hiram College) located in Hiram, Ohio. Arabella Mason Rudolph was a wife and mother. After the Eclectic was established, she and Zeb moved from Garretsville to the Hiram hill and opened their home as a boarding house for teachers and students from the college. Sons John and Joseph were both soldiers during the Civil War, as well as fathers. Daughter Ellen was a wife and mother. They are the family of First Lady Lucretia Garfield, whose husband was the 20th President of the United States.
