The Iñupiat Heritage Center is a spacious new facility designed to handle multiple functions.

The Center was dedicated in February 1999 and houses exhibits, artifact collections, library, gift shop, and a traditional room where people can demonstrate and teach traditional crafts in Elders-in-Residence and Artists-in-Residence programs.

The Iñupiat Heritage Center is located in Barrow, Alaska. Located on the Chukchi Sea coast, Barrow is the northernmost community in the US. Regularly-scheduled jet services provide Barrow's only year-round access.

Before Henry Morton Stanley discovered Dr. David Livingstone in Africa ("Dr. Livingstone, I presume"), he was a Confederate infantryman at the Battle of Shiloh. He was captured by the Federals at the battle.
