From Square Nails to Quilting Patterns - Items for sale at Homestead NM

Books about western expansion, the lives of pioneers, and many other items are available at Homestead National Monument of America in the well-stocked bookstore run by Eastern National. Eastern National is a non-profit organization that provides quality educational products and services to America's National Parks. Proceeds from sales of items at the bookstore are donated to National Parks, including Homestead National Monument of America.

One book of particular interest for all visitors to this unit in the National Park System is the Homestead National Monument of America Handbook. This 40 page booklet includes many photos and illustrations and detailed information about the Homestead Act, homesteaders, and the legacy of the Homestead Act.

There are many other books and items of interest for the adult visitor [see below and top sales items].

There are also diverse children's books including Laura Ingalls Wilder's Little House books and books about American Indians and prairies are available. Unique items such as square nails and dinner bells made by a local blacksmith and arrangements of prairie plants by a local artist complete the inventory at the shop.
