The park hosts special events throughout the year. These events include lectures on cultural and natural resources, site tours, and special activities for children.

Select Saturdays, June 7 - September 20, 2008
Join a park ranger on walking tours of several earthworks on select Saturdays throughout the summer. A park ranger will guide tours of the Spruce Hill Works, Seip Earthworks, and Hopewell Mound Group on the first, second, and third Saturdays of June, July, August, and September. Join in the fun at the park's annual Hopewell Discovery Day. Activities include mound tours, flintknapping demonstrations, artifact identification, atlatl demonstrations, hands-on crafts, and plant and animal displays. All events are free. Click here for more information.

Did You Know?
Obsidian has been found at a few Hopewell earthwork sites. The majority of obsidian, several hundred pounds, was found in one mound at Hopewell Mound Group. Some of the obsidian was from Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming- over 1,500 miles away.
