[Richmond Enquirer, December 15, 1832:] [themes: 1. education 2. family/society overlap—morals and manners 3. health] EDUCATION.--My School for the ensuing year will open, on the 15th day of January, and close on the 1st day of December. In this School will be taught the English, Latin and Greek Languages; Geography with the use of Globes and Maps; Arithmetic and Mathematics. I would receive twelve boys as boarders, who, with my own sons, will make the number of scholars intended to form the School. The price of board and tuition, including lodging, washing and candles, will be $100. The School will be under my own management, assisted in the tuition by my eldest son. Promises made by teachers, soliciting patronage, have become too common to be much regarded; suffice it to say, that those who put their sons or wards under my care and instruction, may be confident that their morals and Education will be faithfully attended to. The government of the School will be mild and parental, yet firm. My residence is in the county of Louisa, about two miles from the Green Springs, a neighborhood remarkably healthy, and free from dissipation of any kind. October 5 [, 1832]. {43--w10w} P. HACKETT.
