Curriculum-based Education Programs

Are you a motivated local school teacher interested in bringing the history of Governors Island to the classroom? If so, you may want to assist us in the research and design of curriculum-based education programs.

Junior Ranger Program

Children of all ages can become an official Governors Island National Monument Junior Ranger by completing our Junior Ranger booklet.

You can obtain free Junior Ranger booklets at the Governors Island bookstore Friday - Sunday from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM until October 12.  The bookstore is located to your left as you disembark the ferry. 

Bring your completed Junior Ranger booklet to the bookstore on Governors Island. A National Park Ranger or Volunteer will review your answers and present you with a Junior Ranger badge.

To earn your badge please bring your completed books to the bookstore by 4:00 PM on Fridays and 4:30 PM on Saturdays and Sundays.

Become a National Park WebRanger

Join in the fun by participating in the National Park Service's on-line Junior Ranger program for kids of all ages. If you love your National Parks, Monuments and Historic Sites, this site is for you. Play more than 50 games and learn about your National Parks.
