WEST GLACIER, MONT. – The geology and glacial history of Glacier National Park is indeed a feast for the eyes! Come survey the park’s classic features with a review of the geologic processes which continue to create them during the brown bag lunch seminar Tuesday, September 8, 2009, Noon – 1 p.m., at the park Community Building, in West Glacier. Witness trends in glacial recession, and learn from current research about the ecologic responses to diminishing glaciers and recent climate change in the park.

Join Glacier Institute’s Field Camp Director, Paul Rappaport, in a spectacular geologic journey through Glacier National Park.  Paul holds a Masters of Geology from the University of Maine, specializing in glacial geology and Quaternary studies. Paul has more than 15 years of formal science teaching experience, and five years of private consulting from the Dry Valleys of Antarctica to the gas fields of the Four Corners of Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah.

These Brown Bag lectures are made available by Glacier National Park’s Crown of the Continent Research Learning Center: http://www.nps.gov/glac/naturescience/ccrlc.htm
