Grant's Tomb After Dark

Grant's Tomb offered a special evening program. Visitors were able to meet a Park Ranger for an afterhours visit by candlelight deep into the mausoleum's underground crypt. 

Memorial Day

The National Park Service observed Memorial Day with its annual "Walk of Remembrance" from the Soldiers and Sailors Monument to General Grant National Memorial.

The National Park Service celebrated the 187th Birthday of Ulysses S. Grant.

Coastal waters were the original highways of the Cape. Today’s common but puzzling terms “Lower Cape” and “Upper Cape” (referring to the northern and southern areas of Cape Cod) originated with sailors. Southwesterly winds meant ships heading north were sailing "down-wind" to the Lower Cape.
