Things To Know Before You Come

You can't get to Fort Sumter from Fort Moultrie.

All mail is received at Park Headquarters, located at Fort Moultrie on Sullivan's Island. For driving directions to all of our sites, please see the Directions page.

Restrooms and water are currently unavailable at Fort Sumter.

The site's restrooms are being expanded and made more accessible. Work began on September 29, 2009 and is expected to take up to 150 days to complete.

While both restrooms and water are available on board the ferry boats, fully accessible facilities are only available at the departure locations in Charleston and Mount Pleasant.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we complete this very important project.

The General Beauregard is a ferry boat operated by Fort Sumter Tours, Inc.
