	Frontier Fest October 28, 2006 (9 Photos) Several living history events took place at the park including a Civil War era baseball game and vignettes focusing on life at the fort in 1864. "Rooster Cogburn" also paid a visit to the courtroom of Judge Parker. View Album \| View Slideshow

	Mexican-American War Event (11 Photos) On July 28, 2007, the park presented a living history event focusing on the role of Fort Smith and the region in the Mexican-American War (1846-48). Visitors were able to "join the army" and signed reproduction enlistment papers, were interviewed by the post surgeon, visited the washerwomen, and took part in the military drill. 	Confederate Occupation Event 2007 (9 Photos) Programs presented on Saturday, April 14, 2007 highlighted the routines and responsibilities of the soldiers who were stationed at Fort Smith and the lives of those living in hte city during Confederate occupation. View Album \| View Slideshow

			Did You Know? Fort Smith was established on Christmas Day, 1817. Approximately 70 Rifle Regiment soldiers arrived by keelboat after a long journey on the Arkansas River.
