Fort Scott National Historic Site consists of 20 historic structures, a parade ground and five acres of restored tallgrass prairie. It is open daily for self guided tours. You may also learn more about the site by taking our cell phone tour. Follow one of the links above for more details. 
General Winfield Scott at the time of the Mexican American War  

Did You Know?
The fort was named for General Winfield Scott, who was the commander of all American armies in the 1840s. General Scott was none too happy about it and said that it was done without his knowledge and against his wishes.
