ENTRANCE FEES

Individual-16 and Above-$3.00 - Individuals aged 16 and above are charged a 3.00 entrance fee. -Receipt is good for entry to Fort Scott NHS for seven days from day of purchase.


LOCAL PASS

Annual Park Pass-$15.00 - Annual-A pass that gives free entrance to the site for one year from the date of purchase is avaliable for 15.00. The pass covers the passholder and any three other adults. The pass is good only at Fort Scott National Historic Site.
 

NATIONWIDE PASSES

America The Beautiful - The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Annual Pass

Interagency Senior Passes-$10.00-Must be US resident and age 62 or older-Lifetime pass

Interagency Access Passes-Free to disabled US residents-Lifetime Pass

Interagency Annual Passes-$80.00-Available to all-Must be renewed on a yearly basis.

The site still honors Golden Age and Golden Access Passports and unexpired National Park Passes, but they are no longer sold.

Officers Quarters that later became the Goodlander Home for Children  

Did You Know?
After Fort Scott was abandoned by the army in 1853, the buildings were sold at public auction, and the fort became the town of Fort Scott. One of the officers' quarters eventually became the Goodlander Home for Children. For about fifty years, orphans and other needy children were cared for here.
