A Star-Spangled Groundbreaking

Briefing Statement - Fort McHenry’s 5,700 square-foot visitor center was built in 1964 to accommodate 250,000 visitors annually.

A Star-Spangled Groundbreaking - On April 27th, key elected officials, NPS leaders, architects and construction contractors, poised, shovel ready, to break ground for a new visitor center.

Operational Changes - Parking changes for both cars and busses. Cars will park in the overflow lot (free) - be on alert for construction vehicles. School busses and motor coaches will be allowed into the park to unload only. Busses must exit the premises after discharging their passengers.

The Water Taxi will operate as usual - a new mulched footpath will be provided for reaching the Visitor Center.
