Pets

Activities with pets are very limited at Fort Larned NHS. Pets are not allowed in any of the buildings. It is a violation of park regulations to leave pets unattended. While walking them on the park grounds they must be leashed at all times.

Important

Summer temperatures in the Fort Larned area can exceed 110 degrees. Such extreme heat can kill a pet within a matter of minutes if left unattended in a closed vehicle. Park regulations prohibit leaving pets in the vehicle unattended where they can quickly overheat. The  best practice is to take turns looking at the buildings while a friend or family member watches the pet.
