Flight 93 National Memorial Groundbreaking Set for November 7, 2009

U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar will lead the Groundbreaking Ceremony beginning at 12:00 Noon. The ceremony will take place regardless of the weather. Please dress warmly.

Untold Stories

The National Park Service has now collected oral histories from more than 500 individuals with a direct connection to Flight 93. Up until now, the voices of students who were in the Shanksville-Stonycreek School near the crash site that day, have been absent. Watch a video clip of an effort to change that.

Climate

Average summer daytime temperatures range from mid-high 70's with cool evening temperatures in the 50's. Autumn temperatures remain warm through October. Winter highs average in the mid-30's with snow cover of one inch or more exists an average of 54 days throughout the season.
