For Teachers

A Walk Through Time

A landscape known for its dramatic, high rising sandstone cuesta (a slanted mesa) and widespread juniper-pine forests, El Morro is a geological and historic wonder. Protected within the monument are over 200 petroglyphs, 2000 inscriptions left by Spaniards and Americans, and pueblos once inhabited by Ancestral Puebloans in the late 1200s. No matter your educational needs, El Morro has plenty to offer students of all ages.
