Now that the Laboratory Complex is open, periodic ranger guided programs are being conducted around the park. There are several different programs so try to see them all or just go to the ones that interest you. Check the visitor center each day for times and meeting locations.

The Phonograph Demonstration- See a real Standard Edison Phonograph and watch the ranger play actual cylinders on it. Experience what people in the early 1900s had to do to listen to recorded sound.

Chemistry Building Tour- It’s the only way to get inside Building 2, the chemistry lab. Walk through the lab with your ranger escort and learn about Edison’s many projects involving that building including his last major one.

The Black Maria Program- Take a closer look at the first building built to be a movie studio. Find out more about the birth of the movie making industry and what Edison’s role in it was.
