Chamizal National Memorial

The Chamizal Convention of 1963 was a milestone in diplomatic relations between Mexico and the United States. Chamizal National Memorial was established to commemorate this treaty, which resulted in the peaceful settlement of a century-long boundary dispute. The Memorial provides visitors with an opportunity to better understand the culture of our borderland.

The Past is Sweet!

The Los Paisanos Gallery at Chamizal National Memorial is currently hosting a "must see" exhibit. It's a look at park and local history, Mexican culture, folklore, and Day of the Dead all wrapped into one great exhibit. There's even a little about Frida Kahlo thrown in for good measure. What's so unique about it? It's all made entirely of sugar!

This exhibit offers something for everyone so please plan to visit the park soon. The exhibit runs through mid-November.

To learn more about the galleries at Chamizal please visit them here.
