Pet Policy at César E. Chávez National Monument

Pets are welcome at César E. Chávez National Monument, but there are specific guidelines to ensure the safety and comfort of all visitors:

  • Where Pets Are Allowed: Pets are permitted on paved surfaces, such as footpaths, parking lots, and roads.
  • Leash Requirement: Pets must be kept on a leash no longer than six feet at all times.
  • Pet Waste: Please be responsible and pick up after your pet to maintain the cleanliness of the monument.

Areas with Restrictions:

  • Visitor Center & Memorial Garden: Only designated service dogs, as defined by ADA regulations, are allowed inside the visitor center and Memorial Garden.

Pet Safety Reminder:

If you leave pets in your vehicle, be mindful of the dangers of overheating. Vehicle temperatures can rise quickly, especially during the summer, putting your pet at risk. Never leave pets unattended in vehicles or tied to objects.

Following these guidelines ensures a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors at the monument.
