Accessibility for People with Mobility Impairments

  • Parking and Access: Accessible parking spaces are located near the visitor center. It is a 20-foot distance to the wheelchair-accessible ramp into the Memorial Garden and 10 feet to the ramp leading to the visitor center door.
  • Accessible Facilities: The restrooms, auditorium, exhibit hall, and bookstore are all accessible to people using wheelchairs.
  • Exhibits: While most facilities are accessible, certain areas—such as the replica of a migrant worker's camp home—may be more challenging for wheelchair users to navigate.
  • Outdoor Surfaces: Most outdoor areas are paved. The Desert Garden features a trail made of hardened, decomposed granite.

For additional information or questions regarding accessibility, please contact the visitor center at (661) 823-6134.
