From Afar
One of our biggest challenges is finding a way to share the Cape Krusenstern experience with those who do not have the opportunity to visit the park in person. We are excited to announce the launch of a Flickr website as a way to extend the virtual monument boundary to encompass all those who love and support our national parks, wherever you may be. Any visitor who would like to volunteer a sample of a trip to Cape Krusenstern National Monument is encouraged to join the park group on to post photos, video clips and journal entries to share with others.
In addition to contemporary experiences and information, any historic documents and photos relative to the area are welcome. A more comprehensive collection and interpretation of these items can lead other people to develop a deeper connection to your parks. Items may be mailed to park .

Did You Know?
The Chukchi Sea is ice-covered from November until May. Ice formation begins in October, with the ice edge from the permanent polar ice pack extending progressively southward until late March. The northward retreat of the ice edge begins in April and continues until late September.
