YoungA multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter performing instrumental and original material. C.S. Young performs as a solo act citing performances ranging from “the stage to the street”, and often includes the help of special guests as part of his performance. Drawing inspiration from Americana, folk, Celtic, and ethnic/world music, C.S. Young willingly creates an atmosphere beckoning the listener on a musical journey. David HowardDavid Howard has been a fixture in music around East Tennessee and the surrounding states since 1975. He has been featured in many country, rock and bluegrass bands over the years. He also has a successful sound company having done sound for many major artists. He spends most of his retirement years doing smaller sound jobs and playing with multiple country, folk and solo 70’s folk music. Meet the Storytellers:Jim BuckJim Buck is a local storyteller from Pall Mall in Fentress county, TN and has been telling stories for many years of local traditions and tales. Buck is a former teacher and sports coach whose favorite Christmas hobby is playing Santa Clause at area events. He recently authored a new Christmas book titled “Santa’s Story “. Jim enjoys his free time with his family and loves being a grandpa.Howard DuncanHoward Duncan is a life-long resident of the Big South Fork area and has always had a deep personal connection to the lands that now make up the park, which he began exploring at an early age. In 2015, Howard Ray Duncan retired after 30 years as a ranger in Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. He is a masterful storyteller, and he has honed his stories after three decades of interpreting the region for hundreds of thousands of visitors. Duncan co-authored 'Hiking In The Big South Fork', now in its third edition. Over the years, he has been closely involved in many park special events such as the Haunting in the Hills Storytelling Festival, the Spring Planting Festival and the Blue Heron Ghost Train.Lounicia HughettLounicia Hughett is a long-time educator, having 30+ years in the classroom and has always been interested in literature and folk tales. She became interested in being a storyteller during her service as Teacher Ranger at Big South Fork. Since that time, she has performed at several storytelling events at Big South Fork and other venues. Lounicia is married to Rev. Don Hughett and is active in the church where he is pastor. They have 3 grown children, Micah, Jordan, and Jacob, who are all in the education field in some capacity. Lounicia is enjoying her newest role as grandmother. Lounicia loves to tell folk tales and stories that have been passed down through her family. She encourages everyone to be a storyteller and keep oral traditions alive. Beth Ann KilburnBeth Ann Kilburn is proud to have grown up in the hills of McCreary County, Kentucky. She has been sharing stories with others for more than 15 years. Her love of stories began as a young girl as she sat on the front porch, listening to her Granny and PaDaddy share memories. Taking from the folklore of the area, she brings alive the dialect and history of the Appalachian Region that she calls home. Through the art of storytelling, she hopes to take you back to a place where once again your imagination can wonder. This might be through laughter, a little scare or a story that may even leave a tear on your cheek. Beth Ann is retired from the U. S. Postal Service. She is an avid crocheter, loves sewing and quilting. She is a volunteer for the Big South Fork Scenic Railway and the Polar Express. You will also find her at the Artisan Shop located in Stearns, KY.
