A group of walrus sitting on the sea ice. Walrus have to get out of the water every once in a while to rest and warm up. You can tell a walrus is cold when its skin is a very pale shade of pink.

Bering Land Bridge National Preserve is pretty far away from, well everywhere, so look here to take a virtual visit to the park and back in time to the ice age.

The land category of national preserves was established primarily for the protection of subsistance resources. Activities such as sport hunting and trapping are permitted in Bering Land Bridge National Preserve and other preserves.
