Park Museum Collection Profiles (NPS)

The collection includes artifacts and objects from the nation's finest assemblage of historic lighthouses. Most noteworthy are two classical Fresnel lenses: the third-and-a-half order Michigan Island lens, on display at the Bayfield Visitor Center; and the third-order Devils Island lens, still in situ at the lighthouse. Other objects include tools and implements from small family commercial fishing operations; artifacts from logging camps and brownstone quarries; an insect collection; furs and study skins.
