Collateral Duty Safety Officer

An individual appointed to a less than full-time safety officer position who acquires through classroom and on-the-job training the knowledge of safety standards, personal protective equipment and accident prevention measures minimally necessary to provide work in accident prevention, including safety inspections, investigating and compiling data on accidents, and providing information on safety standards and techniques.


Discipline Specialist

A professional employee who has mastery and experience in a natural resource discipline (biological or physical science) and an ability to perform scientific investigations to resolve diverse and complex park resources issues.


Industrial Hygienist

A professional in the science and art devoted to the anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control of those environmental factors or stresses arising in or from the workplace which may cause sickness, impaired health and well-being, or significant discomfort and inefficiency among workers.


Program Manager

Manager of a single- or Multi-disciplinary natural resources program, who provides development and planning, implementation and oversight, and coordination and facilitation of partnerships in natural resource program.


Safety Engineer

A professional in the application of engineering principles, methods and techniques, safety related elements of the physical sciences, ergonomics, safety principles, standards, practices and analytical techniques to eliminate or control hazardous conditions resulting from human error, equipment and machine operations which may lead to injury to persons and damage to property.


Safety Technician

A technician with practical knowledge of work processes and equipment, environmental conditions, established safety standards, personal protective equipment, and accident prevention measures that provides support work in accident prevention, including safety inspections, investigating and compiling data on accidents, and providing information on safety standards and techniques.


Worker's Compensation Program Manager

A specialist with advance training in management and administration of Federal employee's workers' compensation cases and having knowledge of safety management principles. The objective of this specialty is to reduce workers' compensation chargeback costs by actively managing workers' compensation cases, investigating claims, identifying fraud and assisting with return employees to work.
