Job Titles for Fire & Aviation Management


 

Aviation Specialist

One whose primary purpose is to provide leadership and coordination in all facets of the aviation management program, including policy compliance, fiscal management, and adherence to established safety policy and procedures.


Fire & Fuels Specialist

A specialist who integrates prescribed fire, smoke management, fuels modification principles and procedures, fire effects knowledge, and knowledge of scientific data collection and analysis principles into a comprehensive prescribed fire and fuels management program.


Fire Dispatcher

One whose primary purpose is to support fire management operations in a dispatch role, performing a variety of staff and administrative duties relating to fire suppression and prescribed fire activities.


Fire Manager

One who applies fire management principles and practices for the protection and enhancement of the wildland environment. A fire manager integrates fire-related environmental, social, economic and technological information into land management activities to meet desired objectives.


Prevention Specialist

One who applies fire prevention processes, practices, and techniques in reducing the risk of wildfire. The employee should have prior fire suppression training and exercises.


Structure Protection Specialist

Suppression Specialist

A fire Suppression Specialist is one who applies technical fire management principles and practices for the protection and enhancement of the wildland environment through the implementation of operational plans.
