E-21 -- Reaping the Sweet Rewards: Building Sustainable Education Programs -- Time: 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm; Capacity: 128; Summary: This session will engage the participants in a dialogue about new strategies for continuity and growth in education programs. Explore a variety of collaborative financial support sources that could be integrated with normal budgetary processes.
E-22 -- Substituting Edutourism for Tourism -- Time: 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm; Capacity: 195; Summary: The NPS can relate the compelling story and the neighbors would benefit by increased visibility. To attain this goal, we must marry education and tourism into "Edu-tourism."
E-23 -- From Kindergarten to Coalitions -- Time: 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm; Capacity: 36; Summary: Building citizen support can be an elementary process. This case study will focus on the Everglades as an example of changing community attitudes toward resource stewardship.
E-24 -- Checking Our Toolbox: The Off-Site Session at Jefferson National Expansion Memorial -- Time: 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm; Capacity: 40; Summary: Off-site visits and traveling trunks are just two of the many ways to take the park to the public. Do these low-tech methods still have relevance in the 21st Century?
E-25 -- Re-creating NPS Education Programs Within the Context of Environmental Leadership -- Time: 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm; Capacity: 118; Summary: We are obligated to comply with environmental laws and regulations, and to go beyond compliance to become environmental leaders and role models to others.
E-31 -- Keep the Torch Burning Bright: Personal Reflections on Education -- Time: 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm; Capacity: 20; Summary: Take time for thoughtful conversation with your colleagues, personal reflection, and journal writing. Join nationally acclaimed writers and peers to examine how we draw inspiration from places, people, and experiences to sustain our energy and leadership.
E-33r -- Long-Distance Learning and Technology: Reaching Those Who Don't Visit Us -- Time: 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm; Capacity: 280; Summary: A vast majority of the worlds population will never visit a national park. How do we effectively reach those people using technology today, and how will we reach them in the future? (Repeated as E-07r)
