Glacier National Park Current Road Status

Visitors can drive 15.5 miles from the West Entrance to Avalanche, and 5.5 miles from the St. Mary Entrance to Rising Sun.

The section of the road between Avalanche and Rising Sun is closed due to the weather. The seasonal closure on the upper portion of the Going-to-the-Sun Road is in effect.

Spring plowing has begun. On the west side, the hiker/biker closure is at Logan Creek comfort station, approximately 3 miles past the vehicle closure when road crew is working and at The Loop when the road crew is not working.

On the east side, the hiker/biker closure is at the Grizzly Comfort Station, approximately 6 miles past Rising Sun, when the road crew is working and at Jackson Glacier Overlook due to avalanche danger, approximately 1 mile further.

 Inside North Fork Road
The Inside North Fork Road is currently closed at Logging Creek RS and Fish Creek due to the weather. Clarification: The Inside North Fork road is closed to vehicles between Logging Creek and Camas Creek (about six miles north of Fish Creek).

Cut Bank Road
The Cut Bank Road is currently closed at Park Boundary due to the weather.
