Passing Of Michael Grimes

[Printer-friendly text version]

Michael Grimes.

It is with sadness that the unexpected and untimely passing of Michael Grimes, the National Park Service’s national records management officer, is announced.

Just 47 years old, Michael had been with the National Park Service since 2000 and in the Office of the Chief Information Officer since 2005, having joined the Service after a number of years with the National Archives and Records Administration.

He is survived by his wife, Andrea, and his six children, ages 12 to 22 years old.  His memorial service will occur on Saturday, November 14th, at 3 p.m. at the King of Glory Lutheran Church in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Donations in lieu of flowers should go to the King of Glory Endowment Fund and sent to the King of Glory Lutheran Church, 4897 Longhill Road, Williamsburg, Virginia 23188, marked ATTN: ANDREA GRIMES and Family.

Cards and other condolences can be sent via mail to Pepper Cox, 1201 Eye Street NW, Washington, DC 20005 and we will ensure the Grimes family gets them.

Name: John Snyder, Deputy CIO
