This is your chance to spend some quality time in our first national park, gain the perspective of working in a large park with a wide variety of issues, and provide assistance and support to the human resources staff .
Yellowstone National Park is announcing an opportunity for a detail or temporary promotion, for 30 to 60 days with a potential extensions of 30 to 60 days, not to exceed 120 days, for a GS-201-11 human resources specialist.
Experiencing Yellowstone in the winter is truly magical, without multitudes of visitors and gives you an opportunity not many get to enjoy.
The park is seeking a skilled, permanent National Park Service employee interested in assisting the Northern Rockies Servicing Human Resources Network with staffing and other HR duties. The main focus of the position will be recruitment and staffing. Interested employees must be proficient in the use of USAStaffing and hold a current DEU certification. Candidates must be interested in providing mentorship and training to HR employees in career ladder positions.
Applicants must have a fully successful or higher rating on the most recent performance appraisal to be considered.
GS-9 candidates who apply, are found eligible, and meet all qualification requirements for the position, may be considered for a temporary promotion to GS-11. Their rate of pay would be determined by the salary table for the locality pay area of rest of U.S.

Yellowstone will cover costs for travel and per diem of the selected employee while they are on this assignment, as well as the difference between current salary and the higher grade if employees selected is currently a GS-9. The home park of an employee selected for a detail will continue to pay base salary.
