Appomattox Court House National Historical Park
Offers Civil War Summer Day Camps

It’s that time of year again! Appomattox Court House National Historical Park will be hosting its 12th annual Civil War summer day camps.

This year we will be offering two different themes for our camps. First, the traditional Civil War day camp which will be held on June 21, 26, 28, July 7, 12, 14, 17, and 23. The second offering is a Natural Resource camp involving a variety of activities that teaches kids about animals and nature within the park. The Natural Resources camp will be offered on June 23, July 10, 19, and 21st.

Both of these camps are for children between the ages of 7 to 12 years old.  Arrival time of all camps is between 8:45-9:00 A.M. Participants will meet at the flag pole at the main Appomattox Court House N.H.P. parking lot. All camps run from 9:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. Bring water, bag lunch, sunscreen, and walking shoes. Space is limited. There is not a fee for the children, but adults staying must pay the $4 entrance fee. To reserve a space please call Alyssa Holland at 434-352-8987, ext 34 and leave a message with the date your children are attending, their ages and a phone number. Come join the fun this summer and learn a little history too.
